Nancy Joy Wilson

Nancy Wilson

She originally received her Interior Design degree from Ryerson University and worked for many years in the hospitality design industry. While raising a family, Nancy returned to school to pursue her passion of painting. She graduated from OCADU in 2005 with a BFA (painting and drawing).
Nancy was born and raised in the Niagara peninsula. It was natural to draw on her roots of growing up in small town surrounded by orchards and farmland. She sees the rural environment as her refuge and inspiration. Her goal is to capture the life, the light, the colour, and the intimate emotion experienced while communing with rapidly vanishing natural landscape.
Nancy’s professional art career began initially by exhibiting in the juried 4th year exhibition at the university, followed by a show in the annual Home+Style Studio Tour and Sale. She then became an active member of the Red Eye Studio Gallery in the Distillery Historic District. This association supported many productive and fruitful years of exhibiting her work in group shows and annual solo shows. These expressionistic landscape paintings have been by represented over the years by Canvas Gallery, Praxis Gallery, XC Restoration Inc. in Toronto, as well as In2Art Gallery in Oakville.
