I attended the Art Department at Central Technical School studying Art History, Anatomy, Still-Life, Life Drawing, Lettering and Illustration. I had some great teachers while there: Doris McCarthy, Virginia Luz, Charles Goldhammer, and Audie Hosie. Following my graduation I enrolled at the Ontario College of Art. In Advertising and Painting. Later this was renamed to Communications and Design.  An Illustrator is what I wanted to be!
During the trying times of 1971 (my forth year) and specialization being frowned upon, I discovered clay. I spent my time learning how to mix glazes, load kilns but mainly concentrated on throwing with guidance from potter and teachers, David Long and Joan Bobbs.
Following my graduation I was asked by Sue and Al Smutylo to join the Circle Arts Gallery and Co-op in Tobermory. I returned to Toronto every fall to work as a clay technician at OCA. In 1981 I left OCA to work full time as a potter Tobermory year ’round.
My work can be purchased at a number of locations throughout Grey-Bruce, besides the Artists’ Co-op, there is the Bruce Peninsula Society of Artists in Lion’s Head, Stone Rose outside Wiarton and the Golden Gallery in Tobermory, or just come by for a visit at my home. I’m two miles south of Tobermory on Warner Bay Road.
