Jennifer Hope Clark

Jennifer Hope ClarkMy work is centred around the nature of colour and how that experience is expressed into form.
Colour is a vibrational energy like sound and it’s said ,
“ The world is created by sound “

I work from my straw bale studio outside of Durham, Ontario where I make my art and raise our two sons with my partner.
My education includes a degree in ceramics and photography from the Ontario College of Art, two years of Fine Art Studies from York University and a Honours BA in Fine Art with a minor in psychology from the University of Guelph. I have also enjoyed a scholarship to study ceramics for nine months at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta.
I have been teaching art for 25 years and especially enjoy working in non traditional settings such as chronic care facilities, homeless shelters and hospitals to share the transformational power and joy of art. I have recently become a New Adult Educator based on Anthroposophical studies which uses art to facilitate learning.
Currently I am continuing on exploring the landscape in oils and working on a new series of mixed media works on paper . I am also looking forward to completing a new series of sculptural paintings, work which I began exploring at Banff while working with clay and paper.
