Ayodele Roseman is a Visual Arts teacher and professional painter who graduated with Honours from the University of the Ontario College of Art and Design (1998) with a Fine Arts Diploma in Drawing and Painting. She earlier studied at the Edna Manley School of Visual Arts in Kingston, Jamaica from 1993 to 1995. She aspires to be a curator having successfully completed her master’s degree in Museum Studies offered at the University of Leicester, UK.
Over the past years, she has exhibited successfully in many group shows of the Women in Art Organization, the National Museum, Horizons Gallery, and Carifesta Arts Festival and continues to participate regularly in membership exhibitions hosted by Art Society of Trinidad and Tobago. Her first solo exhibition was in 2004. A reproduction of her portrait painting “Reaching for a Conch shell” is on exhibit at the Queen’s Park Cricket Oval ‘Art Wall’ on St. Clair Avenue, Port of Spain. She painted on site at the 1st Trinidad and Tobago Streets Arts Festival held in June, 2014. Her style of paintings are semi-abstract and vary in subject matter.
